Early 50s Elgin Pershing

The Elgin Pershing uses case number 5805, and is 10K solid gold. The Pershing falls on the “less” seen side of things. I actually have several NOS dials for the Pershing, but they must fit updated movements. I was able to find this black dial example, which compared to the original dial, is in decent shape, although the “Elgin” and “19” gilt have faded.

The watch doesn’t photograph well, but in person, the case, inner bezel, and gold hour markers shine.

It uses the 19 jewel, 681 movement, which from the factory, was adjusted to 4 positions.
