Elgin De Luxe 5521 “Baker”

This is a very interesting Elgin.  It has a 3 tiered crystal.  It is 10K white gold filled and it has some interesting lugs as well.

This one came in great shape.

It has the case number 5521.  The dial has gold markers, yet silver hour, minute, and second hands.

It uses the 19 jewel, 671 manual wind movement.

It came with an interesting, period Speidel band that matches the character of the watch perfectly.

I see in 1951, the case number was assigned to a 17 jewel Elgin DeLuxe.  One of two things here.  The movement and dial are wrong, or like other models, it migrated to the Elgin designation later it its lifespan.

Update: See bottom photos, which is the correct dial and crystal.
