1959 Lord Elgin Case 7683

Picked up this really nice Lord Elgin. A bit dirty and it had a cracked crystal. A new crystal and some elbow grease and the case polished up nicely. The case is 14k gold plated.

The dial is in excellent shape. It uses the manual, 23 jeweled 750 movement.

The case is a a bit unusual in that the dial fits snugly into the caseback and the caseback then fits inside of the bezel. When I first looked at it, I was disappointed, as I thought it was an aftermarket back installed by a jeweler. But, as you can see in the photos, it is an Elgin case.

Also, I found an Elgin version on Ebay, with a similar stainless steel case (see album).

Additionally, it came with an Lord Elgin box, warranty card dating it to 1959, and an instruction manual.
