Elgin Shockmaster Case 6807

This is a 1950’s Elgin Shockmaster.  It has a 1ok gold case and the Swiss made 643, 17 jewel, automatic movement.  The dial is a raised sunray pattern.  Original, I think it was white and the gold trim on the raised lines must have looked really sharp.  The dial now has a solid patina, but otherwise is in very good shape.

The case itself is in decent shape, with a hint of brassing.  It measures 29mm.   For the time being, I put it on a period JB Champion bracelet.  Just found an ad identifying it as the Capetown, 1956.
