Lord Elgin Clubman Waffle Dial

I finally came across a Lord Elgin Clubman with a clean waffle dial that I could afford.

After a little cleaning and buffing, the watch is in great shape.  The waffle dial just has bit of yellow aging to it.

The movement has a serial number to it, which puts it into the 52 million range and means it was made in 1952.  Ranfft says the 556  movement has a power reserve of 38 hours and runs at 18,000 bph.  It has 21 jewels.

The case is 14K gold filled.

As an added bonus, the watch came with a vintage Speidel expansion band that has leather inserts.  It is in remarkably great shape and will be one of the few bands that came with an eBay purchase I will keep.

While it isn’t the original black leather band that came with the Clubman, I think it looks good on the watch.
