{"id":5273,"date":"2016-01-15T22:06:55","date_gmt":"2016-01-15T22:06:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grumpyguyinc.com\/?p=5273"},"modified":"2017-12-06T22:16:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-06T22:16:32","slug":"elgin-niagara-variant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grumpyguyinc.com\/?p=5273","title":{"rendered":"Elgin Niagara Variant"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;ll be honest, I&#8217;ve been obsessed by this dial. \u00a0I find it to be one of the most interesting, if not most beautiful dials Elgin produced. \u00a0Everyone I&#8217;ve come across has either been dirty beyond cleaning or damaged, leaving me to wonder what it would have looked like new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The other day, on eBay, I saw for sale, an aftermarket kit from the period that included a waterproof non-Elgin case and this dial, NOS! \u00a0And, when it arrived, the dial was near perfect and white. \u00a0My little obsession was almost sated. I also had a case, as seen the Elgin advertisement, which has a smooth bezel versus channeled one I had in my possession.<\/p>\n<p>After a bit of trouble getting the second hand to pass over the
