I picked up another nice Lord Elgin.  This time it is a 1957 (the ad it is in is from 1957 and I have another caseback engraved 1957) Lord Elgin Glencove.  It uses the 654, 23 jewel, Swiss automatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has the case 6831.  The upper case is 14k rolled gold and the caseback is stainless steel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dial is rather interesting.  The center is made up of concentric circles surrounded by a raised gold chapter ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Glencove is described in the ad as part of the Nite-Glo series.  I relumed the hour markers and the back of the hands.  Though I can’t get good photos, the hour dots glow nicely and you can see the back of the hands throwing off some light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, I found a Hadley band that isn’t an exact match for the ad, but it is pretty close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
