Just got this one from the seller and it is near perfect for a 50 year old watch.  The dial is not only immaculate, it is highly decorated as well, with a smooth pearlish white outer ring surrounding a brushed, more reflective center.  The hour markers at 1o, 11, 1, 2, 7, and 8 have different angled tiers, with some polished and others brushed. When light hits them, it is almost akin to a diamond effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case and back are 10k rolled gold, all in great shape, and even the crown is original.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 761 movement, is as I noted, American made, and has 27 jewels.  Luckily, this watch has been serviced recently (a new gasket is a dead giveaway) and it not only runs accurately, but winds freely as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From what I know of this movement it runs at 18,000 bph and for what I payed for this beauty, the movement was adjusted at the factory by Elgin.  In essence, this was built to be an accurate timepiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just an added tidbit from Genejockey over at the Elgin Blog.  I erroneously described this watch as a Lord Elgin when in fact it is not.  The 760, 30 jewel movement was reserved for the Lord Elgin line, while the 761 27 jewel version went to the Elgin line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
